Story
& Synopsis
Faerie is a documentary film that looks at a creature of historical
leadership and influence—and the philosophy or events
which fueled it's deconstruction and unimportance in society. Modern-day Faeries
recount the forebearing lives and perspectives which shaped our world and the
forces which challenged them, and what this means today for Faerie-spirited people.
Faerie is a story and movement. It aims to regain the cultural and spiritual
significance of a unique point-of-view and influence in life.
Filmmaking &
Distribution
The goal in making this documentary is to freely license the finished
film to nation-wide LGBT, public health organizations and to public schools for
use as an education tool that leads to the growth and encouragement of
universal civil liberties. We also hope it inspires and provides self-worth to
those who live in doubt or ignorance of the value of the queer perspective in
life.
Additionally, this film will be targeted for independent theater distribution
across America by San Francisco based Marrvelous
Films in hopes of reaching a wider audience of socially concious individuals.
Faerie will be produced and directed by San Francisco filmmaker
David Marr. |

Public
Relations
Our project aims to re-educate the world on the value of the queer or faerie
influence in mankind, before the minority labeling of "homosexual" or "gay" stigmatized
and forced artists and philosophers into subcultural lifestyles and communities
which, today, fight for equal human rights and respect. As an example, the film
will show that by todays standards, someone with a superior influence on mankind
such as Socrates or Michelangelo would not be allowed to legally marry whom they
loved.
We invite print and online editorial publications to contact
us for features and articles about our effort and events.
Fundraising
Currently our grassroots fundraising efforts are focused on monthly events and
art auctions which feature unique artists or artwork that provides a glimpse
at modern-day queer insite and perspective. Queer means different. A
faerie can be identified as a person who pocesses a unique manifestation of spirit
or perspective
on life.
In addition to seeking funds through traditional
independent film or arts grants where available. |
